Four professors from the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering were awarded research grants by Canada’s Collaborative Health Research Projects (CHRP) program, an initiative of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Faculty recipients are:
- Timothy Chan (MIE), awarded $526,246 for research on adaptive and robust radiation therapy treatment for lung cancer;
- Warren Chan (IBBME), awarded $396,405 for research on low-cost nanotechnology based on molecular diagnostics using paper;
- Andrew Jardine (MIE), awarded $411,638 for research on risk factors and optimization models for breast cancer screening; and,
- Molly Shoichet (ChemE, IBBME), awarded $688,260 for research on bioengineered cell delivery system.
